Turn Table of a Discussion

One row per logged message, in order, with what the records say about how the speaker came to have the floor. No model is called. The System roster row is left out.

Arguments

A focus_group_result, a focus_group_arms object, a FocusGroup, or the list that FocusGroup$run_arms() returns, as for summarize_focus_group().

Value

A data frame with segment ("session", or "prefix" and the arm names; an arm's rows start after the branch point), message_id, item, round, phase, speaker_id, handle, is_moderator, injected, visibility ("shared" or "participants"), verbatim, words, rule (the routing rule that chose a participant turn), candidates and excluded (list-columns from the routing record), trigger_message_id, link, and linked_message_id.

Results made before guide items and handles were recorded take item from round (or, for an imported transcript without rounds, start a new item at each moderator message, with item 0 before the first) and handle from speaker_id.

Details

link is "addressed" when the moderator's preceding line named the participant, "called_on" when the moderator called on a participant who had been silent, and otherwise "sequence": the message simply follows the one before it, which says nothing about whom it answers. For the first two, linked_message_id is the moderator's line (the routing record's trigger_message_id); for "sequence", the previous message.
